Drift

Charming Drift displays gentle rolling curves & highly textural surface. It was inspired by the rolling sand hills of the beaches of Aotearoa where sand has drifted to form undulating curves to the direction of the wind. This rug design was built around possibilities of our computer-controlled tufting process and the complexity of the curves makes it unsuitable for hand-tufting.

Drift is a technically complex product requiring computer modelling to form the curved structure, totally unique to CRONZ, inspired and created in-house. The curves of Drift look best with a chunky felted wool yarn in a single colour or in our felted plyed yarn in up to three colours. We can customise the curve widths or vary the make-up of the curve to change it from soft to a more structured plank effect, all by manipulating the curve size and placement. Another design option is to have the curves run more disparagingly to form the ripple-like effect, mimicking the sand on the beach. The pile hight varies from 10mm in the dip to 25-30mm at the crest of the curve.

Being manufactured from NZ felted wool, the standard wool-appropriate cleaning and care is required. Regular vacuuming is advised as dust and debris can be confined to the dips of the curves without realising.
