Moroccan

Traditional Moroccan rugs have been popularised for use in today’s home interiors. We use 100% New Zealand plyed wool to mimic the Moroccan rugs, traditionally woven by tribal peoples of Morocco. The soft, plush luxurious texture of New Zealand quality wool makes for supreme comfort underfoot. Unlike the conventional rugs, where they were made for their utility rather than for decorative purposes, we customise drawings to suit specific design, scale, dimensions, shape and colours for today’s contemporary interiors.

Our designs range from distressed style patterns in calming colours to simple, yet striking patterns in more contrasting colours. One of our more popular patterns is the diamond, drawn in straight lines or wiggly lines. Self-borders can be an added feature to the design and are made by the pattern colour tufted in distressed lines at the edge of the rug.

While area rugs are a popular choice, wall-to-wall carpet is exquisite, with a pattern scaled to the room proportions.

With our tufting process we tuft the wool in a J tuft, resulting in a pile height 15mm/25mm. This creates enough movement in the finish without losing the intended graphics. The chosen pattern is over tufted, resulting in softer lines, and fabricating a more tribal flavour.
